Acker & Sons has been the plumbing subcontractor on thousands of new homes in the Washington DC metro area, including involvement in the construction of the town of Montgomery Village in Gaithersburg.
Acker and Sons, Inc., was founded in September of 1961 by Lawrence W. Acker and his two sons, Lary L. and Darryl K. Acker. Since its founding, the company offices have been located in Kensington, Maryland. Today Acker & Sons is successfully and efficiently operated by the founder’s grandson, Rodney L. Acker, who serves as President and CEO, and Brian Gallahan (Vice President and Permit Project Manager). They are supported by an excellent staff which includes our commercial plumbers, service department, remodeling team, design center, and field personnel.
Our work primarily consists of high-end residential projects, new hotels and condos, as well as a multitude of others. Commercial projects span from Richmond, VA, to the Baltimore area, including the first Air Rights building (Bethesda’s first high-rise!) and much of the commercial development from Georgetown to Gaithersburg along the 355 corridor.
From our inception in 1961, we have maintained highly regarded and successful service and remodeling departments, serving both residential and commercial customers. We can handle any plumbing project that you may encounter. Our highly experienced and competent residential and commercial new construction departments can handle projects of all sizes, including hotels, condos, town houses and single family homes. In addition, we have a highly acclaimed plumbing showroom and display center, featuring the latest in fixtures and faucets. This showroom is managed by our talented design consultant, Tammy Geisbert.
